		<description>There is no doubt that the online offerings of the NZ Herald and Stuff are a bit of a joke. The bulk of their revenue still comes from the news paper and until this changes we will continue to see incremental improvements with their websites, lacking in much innovation.

I&#039;m not shy to whip out my credit card to pay for products and services online but never has this been to pay for news or content. 

It would have to be pretty damn compelling content for me to pay, even $1 per week. But I still occasionally buy a newspaper just to enjoy well laid out content with big pictures and some infographics so maybe there is hope for paid online news content but it sure isn&#039;t going to come from the current cookie cutter websites.</description>
