Vaughan’s background is as a software architect and has worked on some fantastic and exciting projects, he has been involved with startups for quite some time, a director on boards, still writes code and keep his hands dirty and loves keeping abreast of new things and trends online.
Vaughan most recently was the architect of vianet.travel, providing a complete tool-set for tourism businesses and retailers to sell product online and globally, and architect of Trade Me’s www.travelbug.co.nz, which quickly grew to become the largest source of bookable accommodation in New Zealand, from backpackers to luxury hotels.
Other past projects include developing New Zealand’s (and possibly the world’s) first tele-voting system, a mobile ordering system for one of the largest suppliers of dairy goods and their milkies, and mobile blog software, for mobile devices (a bit before it’s time in 1999).
