Vaughan’s background is as a software architect and has worked on some fantastic and exciting projects including Trade Me’s www.travelbug.co.nz, which quickly grew to become the largest source of bookable accommodation in New Zealand, from backpackers to luxury hotels. He has been involved with startups for quite some time, a director on boards, still writes code and keep his hands dirty and loves keeping abreast of new things and trends online.
Currently the CEO of Vend (www.vendhq.com), a leading online point-of-sale application making waves around the globe, and making retail POS suck less.
Other past projects include developing New Zealand’s (and possibly the world’s) first tele-voting system, a mobile ordering system for one of the worlds largest suppliers of dairy goods and their “milkies”, and mobile blog software for mobile devices (a bit before it’s time in 1999).
